Special Ticketed Session: The Health Effects of Wine: An Introduction and Tasting Experience – By John Krouse (session includes wine tasting)Saturday, October 11th at 4:45–5:45pmCost: $20 John Krouse, MD, PhD, MBA is a renowned otolaryngologist, an AAO-HNSF awarded mentor to young physicians, and former dean of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine. He served as the senior associate dean for clinical affairs, president of Temple University Physicians, professor and chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery, and director of the Head and Neck Institute at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. Dr. Krouse also served as associate dean for Graduate Medical Education at Temple from 2012 to 2015. He was Editor-in-Chief of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and OTO Open for AAO- HNSF from 2014 to 2022. In addition to his illustrious medicine career, Jack is also — a sommelier!! He is a diplomate of the Wine and Spirit Education Trust in London, an accredited International Sommelier Guild advanced sommelier, and a certified French Wine Scholar. Dr. Krouse will share his perspectives on the benefits and disadvantages of alcohol – along with leading a wine tasting practicum -- in a ticketed session at the SOHN 49th Annual Congress and Educational Symposium.
